P\u0159esto\u017ee posledn\u00ed dva roky nemohl z d\u016fvodu epidemie covidu-19 sout\u011b\u017eit v\u016fbec, je jedn\u00edm z historicky nej\u00fasp\u011b\u0161n\u011bj\u0161\u00edch \u00fa\u010dastn\u00edk\u016f sout\u011b\u017ee. Jedno t\u0159et\u00ed m\u00edsto, dv\u011b druh\u00e1 a dv\u011b prvn\u00ed m\u00edsta je\u0161t\u011b doplnil<\/span> Daniel Matej\u010da<\/b> ziskem laure\u00e1tsk\u00e9ho titulu v roce 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

P\u0159edloni jste uzav\u0159el jednu kapitolu sv\u00e9ho \u017eivota. Co V\u00e1m cesta nap\u0159\u00ed\u010d kategoriemi Kocianky p\u0159inesla, a\u0165 u\u017e do \u017eivota hudebn\u00edho, \u010di osobn\u00edho?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Tato dlouholet\u00e1 zku\u0161enost byla pro m\u011b zajist\u00e9 velik\u00fdm p\u0159\u00ednosem. Bylo zaj\u00edmav\u00e9 sledovat nap\u0159\u00ed\u010d lety v\u00fdvoj sv\u00fdch schopnost\u00ed, zvy\u0161uj\u00edc\u00ed se odhodlanost a p\u00edli. Ka\u017ed\u00fd rok jsem byl motivovan\u00fd v\u00edce a v\u00edce. Vracel jsem se v\u017edy moc r\u00e1d, prost\u0159ed\u00ed a v\u0161e okolo jsem miloval. V\u00edt\u011bzstv\u00ed v roce 2019 pro m\u011b tedy skute\u010dn\u011b uzav\u0159elo jednu d\u016fle\u017eitou etapu \u017eivota, na kterou budu je\u0161t\u011b dlouho vzpom\u00ednat.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jednalo se nav\u00edc o v\u00edt\u011bzstv\u00ed absolutn\u00ed. Byl laure\u00e1tsk\u00fd titul n\u011bco, k \u010demu jste celou tu dobu sm\u011b\u0159oval?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Lid\u00e9 \u010dasto \u0159\u00edkaj\u00ed, \u017ee na sout\u011b\u017e jezd\u00ed si zahr\u00e1t a uk\u00e1zat to, co p\u0159ipravili, nejl\u00e9pe jak dok\u00e1\u017eou. Toto nastaven\u00ed jsem m\u011bl v hlav\u011b celou dobu i j\u00e1, ale st\u00e1t na stupn\u00edch v\u00edt\u011bz\u016f je skv\u011bl\u00fd pocit, obrovsk\u00e1 pocta, ale tak\u00e9 pocit velk\u00e9 zodpov\u011bdnosti. Skute\u010dn\u011b jsem jezdil v\u017edy pln\u011b p\u0159ipraven\u00fd podat co nejlep\u0161\u00ed v\u00fdkon, u\u017e\u00edt si atmosf\u00e9ru a t\u0159eba n\u011bkoho sv\u00fdm vystoupen\u00edm pot\u011b\u0161it. To je toti\u017e to nejv\u011bt\u0161\u00ed, \u010deho m\u016f\u017ee hudebn\u00edk dos\u00e1hnout. Vyvolat v poslucha\u010d\u00edch pozitivn\u00ed emoce.<\/span><\/p>\n

Krom\u011b Kocianky jste usp\u011bl na mnoha dal\u0161\u00edch presti\u017en\u00edch sout\u011b\u017e\u00edch, zmi\u0148me nap\u0159\u00edklad druh\u00e9 m\u00edsto na Concertino Praga. L\u00e1kalo V\u00e1s n\u011bkdy zkusit si je z t\u00e9 \u201cdruh\u00e9 strany\u201d?<\/b><\/p>\n

B\u00fdt porotcem na hudebn\u00ed sout\u011b\u017ei je pro m\u011b takov\u00fdm mal\u00fdm vedlej\u0161\u00edm snem. Rozhodn\u011b to nen\u00ed lehk\u00fd \u00fakol, ale b\u00fdt sou\u010d\u00e1st\u00ed n\u011bjak\u00e9 sout\u011b\u017ee pr\u00e1v\u011b z t\u00e9 druh\u00e9 strany je pro ka\u017ed\u00e9ho hudebn\u00edka velk\u00e1 \u010dest. Tak\u00e9 ale velk\u00e1 zodpov\u011bdnost, p\u0159ece jenom na porot\u011b z\u00e1vis\u00ed\u00a0 budoucnost ka\u017ed\u00e9ho ze sout\u011b\u017e\u00edc\u00edch.<\/span><\/p>\n

Skv\u011ble nastartovanou kari\u00e9ru na ja\u0159e 2020 ale zastavila epidemie covidu-19. Znamenalo to pro v\u00e1s n\u011bjak\u00e9 v\u00fdrazn\u00e9 komplikace?<\/b><\/p>\n

V\u0161ichni p\u0159i\u0161li o spoustu skv\u011bl\u00fdch p\u0159\u00edle\u017eitost\u00ed, nejen hudebn\u00edci. Co si v\u0161ak pamatuji, je den, kdy mi p\u0159i\u0161el email se zpr\u00e1vou o zru\u0161en\u00ed turn\u00e9 po japonsk\u00fdch s\u00e1lech. To m\u011b velmi mrzelo, ale takov\u00fdch p\u0159\u00edpad\u016f bylo v pr\u016fb\u011bhu t\u011bch dvou let spoustu.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jak\u00fdm zp\u016fsobem vlastn\u011b b\u011bhem lockdown\u016f prob\u00edhala v\u00fduka, hran\u00ed a muzikantsk\u00fd \u017eivot celkov\u011b? M\u011bl jste v\u00edce \u010dasu na sebe a jin\u00e9 kon\u00ed\u010dky, \u010di jste se sna\u017eil ve\u0161ker\u00fd \u010das v\u011bnovat hudb\u011b?<\/b><\/p>\n

Pozitivum pandemie bylo opravdu to mno\u017estv\u00ed \u010dasu, kter\u00e9 jsem mohl pln\u011b vyu\u017e\u00edt. Samoz\u0159ejm\u011b jsem v\u011bt\u0161inu \u010dasu tr\u00e1vil u hudby, mimo housle jsem tak\u00e9 nap\u0159\u00edklad rozvinul sv\u00e9 jazzov\u00e9 schopnosti ve h\u0159e na klav\u00edr, za co\u017e jsem dneska moc vd\u011b\u010dn\u00fd, je to skv\u011bl\u00e9 zpest\u0159en\u00ed m\u00e9ho tr\u00e1ven\u00ed \u010dasu s hudbou. Bohu\u017eel mi velmi \u010dasto chyb\u011bla motivace, proto\u017ee koncertov\u00e1n\u00ed bylo tenkr\u00e1t v nedohlednu. Te\u010f v\u0161ak mus\u00edm zaklepat, \u017ee je v\u0161e v\u00edce m\u00e9n\u011b zp\u00e1tky v norm\u00e1lu.<\/span><\/p>\n

Z jedn\u00e9 krize se v\u0161ak n\u00e1\u0161 sv\u011bt p\u0159esunul do dal\u0161\u00ed, velmi v\u00e1\u017en\u00e9 a smutn\u00e9. Vy s\u00e1m jste v Liberci vystoupil na koncert\u011b na podporu okupovan\u00e9 Ukrajiny\u2026<\/b><\/p>\n

Ano, z Ukrajiny toti\u017e poch\u00e1z\u00ed velk\u00e1 \u010d\u00e1st m\u00e9 rodiny. U\u017e od prvn\u00edho dne konfliktu jsem se sna\u017eil hr\u00e1t na ka\u017ed\u00e9 benefi\u010dn\u00ed akci, je to toti\u017e jedin\u00e1 mo\u017en\u00e1 cesta, jak hudebn\u00edci mohou vyj\u00e1d\u0159it sv\u016fj postoj k dan\u00e9 situaci. Bylo kr\u00e1sn\u00e9 posl\u00e9ze pos\u00edlat vybran\u00e9 \u010d\u00e1stky dobro\u010dinn\u00fdm organizac\u00edm, \u010dlov\u011bk m\u00e1 potom skv\u011bl\u00fd pocit z toho, \u017ee pom\u00e1h\u00e1, jak jen nejv\u00edc m\u016f\u017ee.<\/span><\/p>\n

M\u016f\u017ee podle v\u00e1s v aktu\u00e1ln\u00ed situaci hudba, krom\u011b samotn\u00e9ho v\u00fdb\u011bru financ\u00ed, pom\u00e1hat i jinak?<\/b><\/p>\n

Hudba rozhodn\u011b spojuje lidi ze v\u0161ech kout\u016f sv\u011bta, je to nejkr\u00e1sn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed univerz\u00e1ln\u00ed jazyk. Kdy\u017e se kon\u00e1 nap\u0159\u00edklad p\u0159enos benefi\u010dn\u00edho koncertu na Ukrajinu, lidi tomu rozum\u00ed, vid\u00ed, \u017ee sv\u011bt stoj\u00ed p\u0159i nich a dod\u00e1 jim to sebev\u011bdom\u00ed a s\u00edlu tuto n\u00e1ro\u010dnou situaci zvl\u00e1dnout. Je to vz\u00e1jemn\u00e1 motivace.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jako \u017e\u00e1k profesora Ivana \u0160trause jste protagonistou koncertu na jeho po\u010dest, kter\u00fd se kon\u00e1 v r\u00e1mci leto\u0161n\u00edho ro\u010dn\u00edku festivalu. M\u00e1 v\u00e1\u0161 vztah krom\u011b profesn\u00ed roviny tak\u00e9 rovinu osobn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed?<\/b><\/p>\n

Pan profesor je pro m\u011b jedn\u00edm z nejd\u016fle\u017eit\u011bj\u0161\u00edch lid\u00ed v m\u00e9m \u017eivot\u011b. Pracujeme spolu u\u017e od m\u00fdch 7 let a za tu dobu ho beru u\u017e t\u00e9m\u011b\u0159 jako \u010dlena rodiny. V\u0161ichni \u0160trausovi jsou skv\u011bl\u00ed! Zku\u0161enosti, kter\u00e9 mi p\u0159edal, to jak m\u011b hudebn\u011b vychoval mu nikdy nezapomenu. Panu profesorovi p\u0159eji k jeho jubileu v\u0161echno nejkr\u00e1sn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed, hodn\u011b zdrav\u00ed a \u0161t\u011bst\u00ed!<\/span><\/p>\n

Interview with the 61st<\/b>\u00a0laureate, Daniel Matej\u010da<\/b><\/p>\n

Despite not being able to compete in the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he still remains of the most successful competition participants. One time 3rd place, two times 2nd place, and two times 1st place; Daniel Matej\u010da complemented all of these achievements with the laureate title in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2019, one chapter of your life ended. What has your experience with Kocianka brought you, in terms of music and personal growth?<\/b><\/p>\n

I consider all those years a huge benefit. It was intriguing to watch my skills change over the years and my determination and diligence grow. I was gaining motivation with each upcoming year. I always loved coming back, the environment and atmosphere are always incredible. So, when I won in 2019, it really was the end of a life chapter for me, I will remember it for a long time.<\/span><\/p>\n

You were also the absolute winner. Being a laureate \u2013 is that something that you were aiming for?<\/b><\/p>\n

People usually say that you go to a competition to perform and to show your skills as best as you can. I was sticking to this mindset the whole time, however, standing there on that podium is an incredible feeling, a big honour, and also a huge responsibility. I always competed intending to give the best performance possible. But I also wanted to enjoy the atmosphere and make people happy with my music. That is the greatest thing an artist can achieve, evoking positive emotion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Apart from Kocianka, you reaped success in other prestigious competitions, for example at Concertino Praga. Were you tempted to attend these competitions \u201cfrom the other side\u201d as well?<\/b><\/p>\n

Being a part of a jury has always been a sort of a little dream for me. It is not an easy task but experiencing competition from the other side is a big honour for every musician. It also presents a responsibility, after all, the jury holds the future of the contestants in its hands.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your newly started career was obstructed by the pandemic in spring 2020. Did you face any major difficulties?<\/b><\/p>\n

Everybody lost several great opportunities, not only musicians. But I remember this particular day when I received an e-mail about cancelling my tour in Japan. I felt very sorry for that, but during the following two years, there were many similar situations.<\/span><\/p>\n

What did the teaching, playing and music life overall look like during lockdown? Did you have more time for yourself, for your hobbies, or did you try to spend all your time with music?<\/b><\/p>\n

This was a positive aspect of the pandemic; I had all this free time to enjoy. Naturally, I spent most of it with music, apart from playing the violin I also played some jazz on the piano, which I am really grateful for today, it was a nice touch to my time spent with music. Unfortunately, I often lacked motivation because there were no concerts in sight. But, knocking on the wood, it all seems to be coming back to normal now.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sadly, our world went quickly from one crisis to another, much more serious and sadder. You performed in Liberec at a concert in support of Ukraine.<\/b><\/p>\n

I did, many of my family members come from Ukraine. Since the first day of the conflict, I tried to perform at as many fund-raising events as possible, it is the only way for musicians to express their attitude towards the current situation. It was nice to send the money to charities, then you have a great feeling from helping as much as you can.<\/span><\/p>\n

Apart from raising money, do you think that music can help in any other way in the current situation?<\/b><\/p>\n

Music definitely connects people from all around the world, it is the most beautiful universal language. When there is a fund-raising concert for Ukraine being broadcasted, people understand it. They see that the world is standing with them, it gives them confidence and strength to push through this difficult situation. It is a mutual motivation.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a student of professor Ivan Straus, you are the protagonist of a concert in his honour, which is happening at this year\u2019s festival. Is your relationship with him purely professional, or also personal?<\/b><\/p>\n

The professor is one of the most important people in my life. We have been working together since I was 7 years old, he is almost family now. All of the Straus family are great people. I will never forget all the advice he has given me and how he has musically raised me. For his jubilee, I wish him all the best!<\/span><\/p>\n
