Moc se mi l\u00edb\u00ed, jak je sout\u011b\u017e uzp\u016fsoben\u00e1 d\u011btem. Aby se l\u00e9pe poznaly, a\u0165 u\u017e se jedn\u00e1 o \u00fa\u010dast v\u00a0d\u011btsk\u00e9 porot\u011b, nebo v\u00a0orchestru. I kvalita v\u00fdkon\u016f je na velmi vysok\u00e9 \u00farovni, n\u011bkdy jsou v\u00fdsledky opravdu t\u011bsn\u00e9. Je samoz\u0159ejm\u011b n\u00e1ro\u010dn\u00e9 hodnotit takto mlad\u00e9 \u00fa\u010dastn\u00edky, mus\u00edme zv\u00e1\u017eit celou \u0159adu v\u011bc\u00ed. Sna\u017e\u00edme se proto vybrat n\u011bkoho, kdo m\u00e1 takzvan\u011b v\u0161echno.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

P\u0159ijal jsem hned. Pavel \u0160porcl se m\u011b zeptal osobn\u011b, zn\u00e1me se u\u017e l\u00e9ta. Poprv\u00e9 jsme se potkali v\u00a090. letech a od t\u00e9 doby se na\u0161e cesty zk\u0159\u00ed\u017eily je\u0161t\u011b mnohokr\u00e1t. Z\u00a0pozv\u00e1n\u00ed jsem m\u011bl radost, t\u00edm v\u00edc, \u017ee jsem m\u011bl mo\u017enost vz\u00edt s\u00a0sebou sv\u00e9ho \u017e\u00e1ka. Je to sice n\u00e1ro\u010dn\u00e9, b\u00fdt v\u00a0porot\u011b a je\u0161t\u011b se starat o n\u011bj, ale jsem na n\u011bj moc py\u0161n\u00fd.<\/span><\/p>\n

Na co se nejv\u00edce zam\u011b\u0159ujete, kdy\u017e hodnot\u00edte sout\u011b\u017e\u00edc\u00ed?<\/b><\/p>\n

\u0158ekl bych, \u017ee hlavn\u00ed faktor je muzik\u00e1lnost. V\u00edm, je to takov\u00fd hodn\u011b obecn\u00fd pojem, kter\u00fd je t\u011b\u017ek\u00fd definovat. Pro m\u011b je st\u011b\u017eejn\u00ed, aby sout\u011b\u017e\u00edc\u00ed um\u011bli sv\u00fdm vystoupen\u00edm vypr\u00e1v\u011bt p\u0159\u00edb\u011bh a aby to um\u011bli spojit s\u00a0dobrou technikou. Kdy\u017e m\u00e1te houslistu, co je sice technicky nadan\u00fd, ale zbytek mu chyb\u00ed, rozhodov\u00e1n\u00ed je o mnoho snaz\u0161\u00ed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dosahuj\u00ed vystoupen\u00ed o\u010dek\u00e1van\u00e9 \u00farovn\u011b?<\/b><\/p>\n

Ano, vlastn\u011b jsem s\u00a0touto \u00farovn\u00ed vylo\u017een\u011b po\u010d\u00edtal. U n\u00e1s v\u00a0Berl\u00edn\u011b m\u00e1me podobn\u00e9 podm\u00ednky a u\u010d\u00edme podle podobn\u00fdch osnov, tak\u017ee jsem nebyl p\u0159ekvapen\u00fd ani zklaman\u00fd, p\u0159esn\u011b co jsem \u010dekal.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0158ekl bych, \u017ee u\u017e je mezin\u00e1rodn\u00ed dost. Kouzlo sout\u011b\u017ee je v\u00a0jej\u00ed velikosti. Kdy\u017e u\u017e byste cht\u011bli pos\u00edlat velk\u00fd po\u010det d\u011bt\u00ed do zahrani\u010d\u00ed na obrovskou sout\u011b\u017e, mus\u00edte zajistit, \u017ee v\u0161e p\u016fjde hladce, d\u011bti nebudou zklaman\u00e9 a neodrad\u00ed je to. Sout\u011b\u017e mus\u00ed b\u00fdt vysoce inkluzivn\u00ed, a to je s\u00a0rostouc\u00edm po\u010dtem p\u0159irozen\u011b t\u011b\u017e\u0161\u00ed. Podle m\u011b je Kocianka p\u0159esn\u011b ten zdrav\u00fd balanc, co pot\u0159ebujeme.<\/span><\/p>\n

R\u00e1d bych na to m\u011bl v\u00edce \u010dasu. Doposud jsme jen pracovali a te\u010f d\u011bl\u00e1m rozhovory. (<\/span>sm\u00edch<\/span><\/i>) Po\u010d\u00edt\u00e1m, \u017ee si m\u011bsto projdu dnes, ve\u010der se chyst\u00e1m do divadla a se \u0160t\u011bp\u00e1nem Je\u017ekem pl\u00e1nujeme nav\u0161t\u00edvit Andrl\u016fv chlum.<\/span><\/p>\n

How would you evaluate the competition so far?<\/b><\/p>\n

I really like how the competition is tailored to children so that they can get to know each other, whether it is through children jury or the orchestra. The quality of the participants is very high, sometimes it’s a very close race. And it is also hard to judge young violin players, there are many aspects to consider, so we try to choose someone who has \u201cthe whole package\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Did you hesitate before accepting the position of jury member?<\/b><\/p>\n

No, I didn’t hesitate. I was asked privately by Pavel \u0160porcl, we have known each other for years. We met for the first time in the 90s and have crossed paths many times since then. I was very happy about the invitation and about the fact that I can bring my own student. It is also a little bit exhausting because being on a jury and taking care of a student is demanding, but I am very proud.<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you focus on the most when evaluating contestants?<\/b><\/p>\n

I think it’s the musicality. Musicality seems to be a very big universal idea which is hard to define. What I look for is a child that can tell a story with their music and combine that with good technique. Sometimes, you have a student who is technically advanced but does not have the complete musicality, so the decision is less difficult in this case.<\/span><\/p>\n

Are the performances up to the expected standard?<\/b><\/p>\n

Yes, I was expecting something on the level we are seeing here. In Berlin, where I work, we teach according to similar curricula and have similar backgrounds, so I was expecting similar performances. I was not disappointed, nor surprised.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you think that Kocianka has the potential to lure in more foreign contestants?<\/b><\/p>\n

I think it is already pretty international. The competition is nice because it is not too huge. If you went through the trouble of sending a large number of children abroad, you would have to accommodate them accordingly, so that they do not get discouraged or disappointed. The competition has to be inclusive. And that is hard to do when you have a huge competition. Kocianka is just the fine line we need.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you often agree with the other jury members, or are your opinions different?<\/b><\/p>\n

Yes, we are very often on the same page.<\/span><\/p>\n

Did you have time to explore the city? Is there something you liked in particular?<\/b><\/p>\n

I would like to have more time for that. So far, we have been just working and now I have an interview. (<\/span>laugh<\/span><\/i>) I hope to do some exploring tonight.
