The Kocian Violin Competition lost a precious person when Pavel Hůla, long-time chairman of the jury, violinist, principal violinist of the Kocian Quartet, conductor, teacher, simply a God-gifted artist, left us on Tuesday 7 December 2021 at the age of 70. Always fair to the children during the competition and a great diplomat in the jury. He excelled in tact, honest decision-making, the art of diplomacy, objectivity in decision-making, as well as the ability to explain his pedagogical procedures.
Pavel Hůla was a great personality, a kind and honest man and remains a great role model for us.
